Raw Materials Scientist – Swindon  

Opportunity:

Are you currently working in analytical quality control? Does your experience include hands on analytical testing of finished drug products? Do you have hands on experience in using techniques such as Balances, pH meter, UV, Karl Fisher, FT-IR, TLC, Dissolution and HPLC (to include degradation analysis)? Want to work for a large pharmaceutical company? Yes then this is the role for you!

Your role as a Raw Materials Scientist based in Swindon will involve testing within the Quality Control group, to ensure that the company’s materials are tested in accordance with the relevant specifications and with cGMP, and to a standard acceptable to any auditing bodies.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out Finished Product QC release testing using techniques such as Balances, pH meter, UV, Karl Fisher, FT-IR, TLC, Dissolution and HPLC (to include degradation analysis).
  • Generating simple test plan for a validation project.
  • Writing a stability report based on the protocol and test results generated.
  • Working with LIMS; Entering and checking of results.
  • Qumas; printing documents, and creation of basic CR’s.
  • Identifying the correct specifications and methods for testing, including stability and validation protocols.
  • Identifying laboratory out of specification and out of trend results.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 5.00 pm site based in Swindon.

This is a 12 months contract which will be reviewed for a possible extension but this is dependent on the candidate and business performance.  The PAYE rate is £13.08 per hour.

Skills:

  • BSc or MSc in a scientific subject.
  • Experience with Balances, pH meter, UV, Karl Fisher, FT-IR, TLC, Dissolution and HPLC (to include degradation analysis).
  • Ideally worked within a pharmaceutical or related industry.
