Job Description

We are excited to offer a permanent position for a full-time Psychologist to work in a service for users aged 8-18 where you can offer excellent psychological care in a highly competent, well-resourced multi-disciplinary team, with space for innovation and room to develop your areas of clinical interest in eating disorders and/or the associated co-morbidities such ASC, complex trauma, EUPD, depression, OCD and self-harm.

Salary: Up to £65,000

Setting: Eating Disorders Hospital

Location: Barnet, London

For this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Support and develop psychological perspectives across the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Provide psychological assessments and therapy to patients and their families.
  • Deliver specialist psychological interventions in individual, family, and group settings.
  • Foster therapeutic relationships to support vulnerable young people in overcoming eating disorders and preparing for life outside the hospital.
  • Collaborate closely with the MDT, other psychologists, assistant psychologists, and therapeutic support workers.
  • Work under the supervision of a consultant or senior clinical psychologist.
  • Participate in research, training, teaching, service improvement, and service evaluation projects.
  • Engage in a fortnightly academic forum for CPD and presentations from internal and external speakers.
  • Maintain links with local Doctoral Programmes in Clinical and Counselling Psychology, with opportunities for research and clinical trainee placements.
  • Demonstrate empathy, strong boundaries, clinical skills, and teamwork in an inpatient setting.

Requirements:

Qualification

Essential

  • Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology including specific models of psychopathology and psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.

Desirable

  • Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working as a qualified clinical/counselling psychologist within CAMHS or Adult Mental Health

Desirable

  • Post qualification experience of working patients (and their families) with eating disorders and/or associated co-morbidities (e.g. ASD, complex trauma, EUPD, depression, OCD, self-harm).
