W Talent are now supporting a large, innovative manufacturing company located in Banbury, Oxfordshire who are looking to a Manufacturing Engineer who will be instrumental in leading and guiding the manufacturing engineering team to achieve business goals. Position Overview

I am now looking to speak with Manufacturing Engineers and Production Engineers who are on the market looking for a new, exciting challenge in the Banbury or Oxfordshire area. As the new Manufacturing Engineer, you will be instrumental in leading and guiding the manufacturing engineering team to achieve business goals.

Your role involves supporting production, managing project work, and maintaining technical standards to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance. You will collaborate with suppliers and customers for daily production needs, and flexibility is key, as occasional additional tasks may arise. You will offer proactive support to operations and contribute to ongoing projects, including new product and equipment introductions.

Key Duties Include

  • Provide operational support to ensure adherence to safety protocols, maintain quality standards, and achieve production targets.
  • Develop, implement, and uphold a comprehensive 'standard work' process deck that aligns with rigorous quality management system standards.
  • Program, configure, and operate CNC machining centers equipped with Mazak and Fanuc controls.
  • Design and fabricate tooling and fixtures to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the integration of new products into the machining workflow.
  • Ensure manufacturing methods and processes meet quality, delivery, cost, and lead time requirements.
  • Innovate and enhance machining processes site-wide, exploring and implementing new technologies.
  • Support quality investigations by implementing effective containment measures and conducting thorough root cause analyses for permanent corrective actions.
  • Introduce solutions aimed at reducing manufacturing costs and improving productivity levels.
  • Provide designs for internal and external customers and creating CNC programmes for all equipment and R&D projects.
  • Offering a functional and innovative solution to customer requirements while incorporating the latest technology and innovations, utilising both traditional and leading-edge materials and products.

Key Requirements

To apply for the Manufacturing Engineer position based in Banbury, Oxfordshire you will ideally hold a Degree in Aerospace, Design, Product or Mechanical engineering with CNC experience.

Skills and Ability

  • Proficiency in CNC machine programming and operation to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Familiarity with specifying production tooling and equipment.
  • Ability to create clear and concise standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of PPAP methods for product validation.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and metrology reports.
  • Understanding of Lean principles and tools.
  • Proficiency in planning and coordinating work activities.
  • Excellent communication skills across business levels.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and organization skills.

What’s on Offer:
