Our client operates three established EBD Children's homes across Wolverhampton and Walsall, with a fourth on the way. They pride themselves on their GOOD ratings from OFSTED and offer a warm, welcoming environment where teamwork and support are key. They are dedicated to making the journey joyous and fun for the children and young people in their care.

As a Responsible Individual, you will:

• Communicate with Ofsted and attend feedback sessions.
• Oversee the management and delivery of services, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Supervise individual children's homes and the overall operation.
• Work closely with the Head of Care and Director to address operational concerns.
• Partner with Registered Managers and Deputy Managers to monitor staff development.
• Chair management meetings as needed.
• Maintain your own CPD and evaluate staff training effectiveness.
• Develop and establish care, accommodation, and support provisions.
• Ensure health and safety checks are completed on time.
• Implement and monitor continuous improvement plans for each home.
• Manage admissions, transitions, and discharges efficiently.
• Ensure the welfare and development of all children and staff.
• Report to the Head of Care and visit homes regularly.

The ideal candidate for the Responsible Individual role will have:

• Experience in social care, specifically in a Registered Ofsted Children’s Home.
• A Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• A UK Driving Licence.
• An understanding of legislation relevant to the profession.
• Confidence in dealing with people.

Preferred but not essential:

• Minimum of 2 years in roles requiring the supervision and management of staff in children's homes.
