As a Senior Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner, you will:

  • Deliver safe, quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase of care.
  • Support, coordinate, and assist in the management and organisation of care within the operating department.
  • Provide clinical and managerial direction to ensure quality patient care.
  • Head up the delivery of patient care during specified periods.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
  • Promote best evidence-based practice within your scope.
  • Apply legislation, policies, and procedures correctly.

The ideal Senior Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner will have:

  • Registered Practitioner status with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to functional specialty (e.g., Advanced Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification).
  • ENB 998 and/or mentorship course.
  • Approved/recognised anaesthetic course.
  • ILS certification.
  • Orthopaedic skills.
  • Mentorship qualification.
  • ILM3 qualification.
  • Experience working in an acute healthcare environment.
  • Experience managing and leading a clinical team.
